Looking Back - the 8 days of Sukkot in Jerusalem

Looking back, so many things happened this Sukkot in Israel! It was amazing!!!

Day 1

On the first day and almost every day throughout the 8 days of Sukkot, we had a lot of fun playing in the Independence Park with kids from Israel and from all over the world.

In the evening of the first day of Sukkot, we also attended a worship service in a sukkah at Roeh Israel (Netivyah). It was amazing meeting people from all over the world, from Germany, England, America, Korea, and Romania!

Day 2

On Tuesday, the second day of Sukkot, we visited the Israel Museum and had fun watching the kite festival.

Day 3

On Wednesday, day 3 of Sukkot, we played at the Independence park again and joined some friends in their sukkah at French Hill for a fellowship BBQ.

Day 4

Thursday, the 4th day, was the Jerusalem March! The Jerusalem March was one of the best parts of this Sukkot. Tens of thousands of people from all over the world came to show their love for Israel. My siblings collected lots of flags and little souvenirs from the marchers!

Day 5

On Friday night, the 5th day of Sukkot, we visited another friend's Sukkah. We also celebrated my birthday!

That night, we also got to see a red blood moon!

It is kind of blurry in the photo, but that night it was really beautiful and chilling, too!

Days 6 and 7

On the 6th day of Sukkot, Shabbat (Saturday), we attended a morning worship service at Roeh Israel (Netivyah). In the afternoon, we played at Independence Park again. It was amazing. There were so many people at the park and we met lots of people from all over the world.

We also got to eat lots of delicious food this Sukkot!

Pita bread is one of my favorites! There is nothing else like it! It is soooooo delicious, especially when you eat it fresh from the Shuk!

We also enjoyed a delicious cheese cake for my birthday!

We also enjoyed eating lots of fruit including guavas, pomegranates, oranges, grapes, and figs!

And last of all, my favorite - chocolate covered ice cream! It is the best ever! It doesn't contain milk!

Day 8

The 8th and last day of Sukkot, Monday, was the best and the hardest because it was time to say goodbye to all our friends.

That night, we all said goodbye to Sukkot and to all our friends. We enjoyed a fellowship dinner together at the park

At the end, as we said goodbye to each other, everyone said , "See you next Sukkot in Jerusalem!"

I think that what stood out to me the most this Sukkot was meeting the other fellow believers from all over the world. It was very encouraging to hear their testimonies and see that so many other people also loved the Lord and His word.

I hope, and pray, that if the Lord wills, we can celebrate Sukkot again in Jerusalem next year!
