Beijing Zoo (Part 1)

On Tuesday we went to the Beijing Zoo for my sister's birthday. We rode the bus there.

When we arrived, we decided to visit the Amphibians exhibit first.

There, we saw a few crocodiles and alligators.

We also saw a Chinese Giant Salamander.

There were also many turtles and tortoises in the exhibit. Here are a couple of my favorites:

This is a razor-backed turtle. He is not very large. His shell is probably around 6 inches long.

Here is another small turtle. He's about to drink water.

This turtle is also not big. He's really cute.

Here's the same turtle from a different angle.  I like the expression on his face.

In this tank, there are two turtles, one on top of another.  The one on the top looks like he is posing for a picture.

Here is a very unique amphibian. It's called a Matamata.

We also saw many toads and frogs:

I happened to be taking a picture when this toad was eating a cricket.

This is him, after his quick snack.

I wonder what kind of frog this is. He has red eyes.

This green frog is not easy to spot. He's hiding below the leaf.

This tank is one of the biggest. There are many kinds of turtles that swim in this tank.

This green iguana that we saw is pretty big. He's up on the tree branch.

I'm not sure what type of amphibian this one is, but he looks really cute.

I think this one's called a Giant Tegu.  He's so big that he has two windows.

When we came to this iguana's tank, he was resting.

Here's a small, cute gecko.

Here's another amphibian on a tree branch. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, either.

Here, on the wall is a Madagascar day gecko.  He's bright green and he has red speckles on his back.

To be continued in the next post...
