Seabridge Park!!!

Today, we went to Seabridge Park (in Huntington Beach) with the Lu Family (kids: Nathan, Joshua, Bella, Noah).

Seabridge Park is a lagoon, and there are no waves so it is very safe. It is also part of the ocean, so the water is salty.


We had a great time playing and wading in the water.


Theodore enjoyed paddling.


We also had fun digging a pool and building a sand castle.


The best part was burying people in the sand. We buried Noah and Bella. Below is a video of us burying Bella inside the sand.

We got to visit lots of playgrounds in Israel! They are different from the ones in the U.S. and they are really fun! This playground was in the Old City, Jerusalem.  The swing was really fun! The park was really fun! You could slide down and also climb up! Sliding down! There were also two long blue slides! We also got to visit two parks in Tel Aviv. The first park was like an amusement park. It had like 20+ swings! This park also had two of the swings that we saw in Jerusalem! This park also had a giant playground with at least 12 slides! Food in Israel

One of my favorite things in Israel is the food! I LOVE food, and every country and culture has its own unique type of food. Israel is no exception! In the Bible, God promised to bring the Israelites into Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey . The seven biblical fruits of Israel are: Wheat Barley Grapes Figs Pomegranates Olives Dates Although these 7 fruits are the 7 special fruits of Israel, but there are also lots of other delicious food in Israel! In this post, I will focus more on food in Israel, and I will talk about fruits in Israel in another post. There is too much delicious food in Israel than can be contained in 5 blog posts. Gan Ha'Atzmaut - Independence Park

My favorite thing that we did this week during Sukkot in Israel was playing in Gan Ha'Atzmaut, Independence Park. We got to play with kids of all ages from families from all over the world.  Sometimes some of the younger kids couldn't understand English, so some of us would translate into Hebrew, German, or Chinese, for them. We had a fun and exciting time together. Even though we only played together for one week, it feels as if we knew everyone for an year already! Below, we are playing a game called "Squirrel and Tree". The little ones absolutely LOVE this game, and it is pretty fun even for us who are older. Since we are all from all over the world, we all know different games to play. It was fun discussing, teaching, learning, and playing new games. A Day at Seward Park

A place that many friends have recommended us to go to is Seward Park. Seward Park is by a lake, and there are swimming areas. There is also a playground and hiking trails.  The Playground We spent a lot of time at the playground. This is Anabel on the tight rope: Anabel Carefully walking Succeeded! Good Job! We've never been on one in a playground in CA, so this was very special. Franklin Falls

Franklin Falls! Don't worry, we're not going to a show to watch our friend Franklin fall! We're going to hike to a waterfall! To hike to Franklin Falls, there are two trails to choose from. On the way up, we'll be walking on Franklin Falls Trail, and on the way down, we'll go on the Wagon Road Trail. In total, we'll hike for about 2.3 miles. Note: I am taking most of the photos on this trip, so you probably won't see me in any of the pictures! Trail information Here we are at the start of the trail. Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park

Here we are, in Seattle, at the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park.  Gold was found on the Klondike River in Alaska. Thousands of gold miners headed for Alaska to mine for gold. Here, in Seattle, is the place where those gold miners stopped for supplies on their trip to Alaska. Businesses in Seattle boomed. It was not easy to travel to Alaska. The winter was cold and harsh, and miners and horses died on the way. Many gave up and turned back. By the time most of them got to the Klondike River, all the gold was already gone. Very few actually struck it rich. Others, however, "struck it rich" in a different way. Many women became wealthy from cooking and doing laundry for the miners. Many businesses were also established during the time of the Gold Rush. Most of all, because of the Gold Rush, Seattle grew from a small town to the big, bustling city that it is today. The Shuk in Israel

Whenever someone asks me, "What is your favorite place that you visited in Israel?", I always answer, "The Shuk". "Shuk" means "street market" in Hebrew. I love going to the Shuk. The Shuk is always full of life and bustling with people. It is a very exciting place to visit in Jerusalem. There are the most people in the Shuk on Friday morning. This is because the Shuk closes early on Friday because of Shabbat and everyone needs to buy extra food ahead of time. Here is a picture of one of the emptier streets in the Shuk: Almost every type of food is sold in the Shuk: meat, vegetables, fruit, bread, grains, rice, spices, dessert, candy, and packaged food. The most colorful and attractive shops of the Shuk sell candy. We don't buy candy, but it looks very tempting. The smaller candy sells at 3 or 4 for 10 shekels. 1 dollar equals 3.67 shekels, so 10 shekels equals 2.73 dollars. Cookies are also sold at the Shuk. They are mo...

The Humming Bird Aviary (at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum)

On our way back to California from Texas, we visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum! My favorite part of the Museum was the Hummingbird Aviary.  Here are some pictures of the hummingbirds. Enjoy! This little bird was eating from the feeder: Hummingbirds come in all colors, including green! One of the best places to find hummingbirds is next to the feeders. More little hummingbirds... Hummingbirds are small and hard to spot, but it's fun to find them! The best surprise of all: A hummingbird nest!!!

Chi-Chi the Chick

Hello everyone! I am Chi-Chi ( pronounced "chee-chee") the Chick! I was born on August 23rd, 2018. This is me hatching: When I came out of the egg, I looked kind of dead: But when I became fluffy, I was just the opposite! I started pecking at the other eggs! You see, I just wanted a friend. Finally, one of my siblings started to hatch! I was sooooooo excited! Then something went wrong and the temperature dropped. I don't know why, but my sibling stopped breathing. In the end, I turned out to be the only chick that hatched successfully. In the beginning, I was given cooked white rice to eat. I tried a piece, but I guess I just didn't like the taste. Instead I nestled down and sat right on top of the rice pan! Then, I got seeds to eat. I think they were chia seeds or sesame seeds or something like that, but anyways, they tasted REALLY good! The Jerusalem March

The Jerusalem March takes place each year during Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) in Jerusalem. People from all over the world (mostly Christians) come to Jerusalem and participate in the Jerusalem March to show their love for Israel. It is really amazing! Anabel and Theodore got lots of flags from the marchers. The ICEJ. There are marchers from all over the world!
