Our New Invention: Coconut Cream Pancakes!!!

Today, my mom invented a new delicious dish - Coconut Cream Pancakes!

Ingredients: Flour, Water, Coconut Cream, Oil, Sugar.

 All you do is simply mix the ingredients together...


And then cook it on the pan!

 Mmm... they tasted SOOOOOOOOO good!

Pets Surprise!

         We just got back to China and now we already have 2 pets! Let me tell you the story of how it all happened.      First, Daddy received a messaged from a friend. I don’t remember the details, but our friend said that his friend did an environmental experiment on bunnies. His friend brought back one of the bunnies to keep as a pet in his school, but the school wouldn’t let him keep the bunny. So now, the bunny needed a home, and our friend asked if our family could take in the bunny. Sadly, Daddy said “no”.      On that very same day, Daddy, Anabel, Theodore, and I biked to the basketball court to play basketball. On our way back home, Theodore, Anabel, and I decided to bike a couple more rounds in our neighborhood before going back home. The Humming Bird Aviary (at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum)

On our way back to California from Texas, we visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum! My favorite part of the Museum was the Hummingbird Aviary.  Here are some pictures of the hummingbirds. Enjoy! This little bird was eating from the feeder: Hummingbirds come in all colors, including green! One of the best places to find hummingbirds is next to the feeders. More little hummingbirds... Hummingbirds are small and hard to spot, but it's fun to find them! The best surprise of all: A hummingbird nest!!!

Here are some sneak peeks of all the fun we are having at Huntington Beach Local Bee this summer! Every Sunday since June 2nd, 20-some contestants and their families get together at Huntington Beach to study for the Bible Bee together! Our Local Bee's wonderful hosts are two sisters, Kristie and Joanna Tang! Huntington Beach Local Bee: Kristi, Julianna, Anabel, Hannah, Bethany Huntington Beach Local Bee: Theodore, Joshua, Daniel Contestant Introductions! (6/2- Anabel) Each Local Bee meeting begins with a lesson, which is usually about the Unit we studied in the Discovery Journal for the week. Kristie and Joanna (our co-hosts) pull names out of a hat each week. Whoever's name is pulled out gets to go up on stage and recite a passage in front of everyone! Seabridge Park!!!

Today, we went to Seabridge Park (in Huntington Beach) with the Lu Family (kids: Nathan, Joshua, Bella, Noah). Seabridge Park is a lagoon, and there are no waves so it is very safe. It is also part of the ocean, so the water is salty. We had a great time playing and wading in the water. Theodore enjoyed paddling. We also had fun digging a pool and building a sand castle. The best part was burying people in the sand. We buried Noah and Bella. Below is a video of us burying Bella inside the sand.

The Taiwanese Market

The Market in Taiwan is a very fun and exciting place to be in. It is a lot like the Shuk in Israel . The Market is noisy and crowded, and almost everything is sold there. You can find fruits, vegetables, purses, shoes, clothes, fish, noodles, pastries, hot pot, and even fresh clams and pig hooves! We visited the Market around Lunchtime, so we looked for hot food first. Below is Theodore eating the delicious sweet potato (the purple kind) pancake! The vendors made them on the spot, so they were fresh and hot. We bought 2 for 50 Taiwanese yuan. Roughly 30 Taiwanese yuan equals 1 US dollar. Mmm! We also ate egg pancake with cheese. Daddy ordered one with cabbage in it. The lady also made the egg pancakes on the spot! Each egg pancake was around 30 Taiwanese yuan. We also bought roasted duck for dinner! The Old City of Jerusalem is a fascinating place to visit in Israel. There is too much to write about in the Old City of Jerusalem than can be contained in one blog post. In this blog post, I will just be writing about the interesting bits & pieces of the Old City of Jerusalem. Jerusalem lies in the center of 3 continents of the world: Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Old City of Jerusalem lies at the very heart of Jerusalem, the center of the center of the world. Let's begin our journey at the most impressive part of the Old City - the city walls. The city walls of the Old City of Jerusalem were very important in ancient times. The walls of the Old city are 5 to 15 meters tall, and stretch for approximately 4.5 km. Playgrounds in Israel

We got to visit lots of playgrounds in Israel! They are different from the ones in the U.S. and they are really fun! This playground was in the Old City, Jerusalem.  The swing was really fun! The park was really fun! You could slide down and also climb up! Sliding down! There were also two long blue slides! We also got to visit two parks in Tel Aviv. The first park was like an amusement park. It had like 20+ swings! This park also had two of the swings that we saw in Jerusalem! This park also had a giant playground with at least 12 slides! There was something that you could go on and it would take you down to the ground! Near this park in Tel Aviv was another park. It was really fun, too. Popsicles in Taiwan!

More about Taiwan... We got to eat delicious home-made popsicles in Taiwan! Popsicles are one of the special local products in this part of Taiwan.  Below is Theodore and I in front of the popsicle store: The word in front of the store,  "冰",  is pronounced "bing" . It means "ice", and it can stand for cold desserts like ice cream, shaved ice, and popsicles.. Each of us chose a different flavor!  Daddy chose durian , Mommy chose taro , Catherine chose pineapple , Anabel chose milk , Theodore chose black sugar , and I chose passion fruit . We were very happy that we could find one that Theodore could eat (he has allergy)! Daddy finished first, and then Catherine! Anabel and Theodore took their time and finished last! :) The popsicles were SUPER delicious!!! Below are the wrappers of all our popsicles (except for Daddy's). Israel

On our trip to Israel, we flew on an Israeli airline called EL AL. Our first meal had pasta, chicken, pita bread (delicious!), grapes, potato chips, a slice of chocolate cake, and a drink.  After fifteen hours on the airplane, we landed in Israel.  As soon as the airplane touched the ground, almost everyone in the plane shouted and clapped.  Was it because our airplane stayed safe (and in the air) throughout the whole flight? We went through the customs, got our three tiny luggage (each less than 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide) from the baggage claim, and exited the airport.  The ride to the apartment where we would be staying was quite long.  However, I happened to be sitting next to my brother, who is both a very good comedian and a very good storyteller.  For the whole ride I sat listening to his entertaining story of animals (deer, cows, horses, skunks, and rabbits).
