Looking back, so many things happened this Sukkot in Israel! It was amazing!!! Day 1 On the first day and almost every day throughout the 8 days of Sukkot, we had a lot of fun playing in the Independence Park with kids from Israel and from all over the world. In the evening of the first day of Sukkot, we also attended a worship service in a sukkah at Roeh Israel (Netivyah) . It was amazing meeting people from all over the world, from Germany, England, America, Korea, and Romania! Day 2 On Tuesday, the second day of Sukkot, we visited the Israel Museum and had fun watching the kite festival. Day 3 On Wednesday, day 3 of Sukkot, we played at the Independence park again and joined some friends in their sukkah at French Hill for a fellowship BBQ. Our friends' sukkah Arm wrestling at Independence Park Day 4 Thursday, the 4th day, was the Jerusalem March! The Jerusalem March was one of the best parts of this Sukkot. ...

We got to visit lots of playgrounds in Israel! They are different from the ones in the U.S. and they are really fun! This playground was in the Old City, Jerusalem. The swing was really fun! The park was really fun! You could slide down and also climb up! Sliding down! There were also two long blue slides! We also got to visit two parks in Tel Aviv. The first park was like an amusement park. It had like 20+ swings! This park also had two of the swings that we saw in Jerusalem! This park also had a giant playground with at least 12 slides! There was something that you could go on and it would take you down to the ground! Near this park in Tel Aviv was another park. It was really fun, too. On our last night in Tel Aviv, we also visited a park next to the beach! I hope you had a great time reading this post! Weekend family trip to San Diego! At the beach... Seashells... Scenery... "The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters." -Psalm 24:1-2 There was a hole in the ground that was connected to the ocean. There was a stream in it, and water flowed in and out with the waves. It was pretty wide - maybe 3 or 4 feet at its width. Catherine decided to go for a challenge and jumped across! Tide pools... There were lots of plants, snails, and little crabs in the tide pools. I wrote my name in the sand, just for fun. Everything in God's creation is so unique! I love the way the rocks at the beach are shaped - in some places they are smooth, and in other places they are jagged. A little crab hiding underneath the rock: Uniquely shaped rocks: Seagull flying o...
We're up in the air again! This time, from Beijing to Vancouver (we'll be transferring there)! The wind was big and strong today, but the sky was blue and the clouds were white and puffy. We waited in the plane for a while, because it was not safe to fly in such a strong wind. Meanwhile, we were busy taking pictures! Freckles the bunny on the plane: Anabel: As usual, there was a Safety Booklet that taught you about what to do in the case of an emergency. Also located in the pocket of the seat in front of you was a magazine: Air Canada's magazine. The magazine was mostly about duty-free items for sale, advertisements, and news articles, but there was also a fun puzzle inside! There was also a description of the planes in the Air Canada fleet. The Boeing 737 MAX-8 plane was one of them, too. Finally, after a long period of waiting, our plane took off! In the air... at last! Good-bye, Beijing! I...
On the Road On July 18th, we drove from Seattle to Canada. The drive was about 5 hours. On the road there, Theodore entertained us with stories. Theodore tells stories on the car In Canada We stayed in an Airbnb in Surrey, Canada. Surrey is a city near Vancouver. There were lots of trees around the house. It was like living in the woods. The front "yard" This is Anabel in the front yard: Anabel next to the trees This is our car next to the house. The house looks a lot like a cabin. The Trampoline There was a trampoline in the backyard. It was our favorite part of the house. Theodore on the trampoline We found a giant bug in the house and let it go on the trampoline. Theodore, Anabel, and Catherine did lots of front-tucks and back-tucks on the trampoline. Anabel doing a front-tuck on the trampoline Theodore on the trampoline Grace (me) on the trampoline Theodore and Anabel on the trampoline Daddy a...
Time passes so fast! It's so hard to believe that it's already the end of July! We've all had a great summer studying the book of Psalms through the Bible Bee summer study. In just one week, it'll be August 3rd, our Local Bee's Proclaim! Day. And then, one week after that, it'll be... the Online Nationals Qualifying Test!!! One way I love to review my Discovery Journal is by making summaries of each unit. Unit 1: Unit 2: (I tried my best to scan this one, but I just couldn't get one without cut-off edges. So, I've decided to attach both below... xD) Unit 3: Unit 4: Unit 5: Unit 6: Unit 7: Unit 8:
Since Multnomah Falls is really close to Bonneville Dam, we went there after we visited Bonneville Dam. Multnomah Falls, at a distance, after we parked our car. We went to the Visitor Center and did the Junior Ranger Program. I also talked with a volunteer worker who was at the desk. He was an old man, and he had been volunteering since 1989. "You should really go on the bridge," he said, "It only takes 5 minutes to walk up there." He continued, "If it takes 5 minutes to get up there, how long do you suppose it will take to get down?" Without thinking, I said, "Well, it takes 5 minute to get to the bridge, but if you jump down, I think it will only take a few seconds." I continued, after a short pause, "But, of course, we won't jump. We'll probably take the same trail back down. I suppose that will be about 5 minutes too." The Bridge, and the waterf...
