Crater Lake National Park

We were blessed to visit Crater Lake on 6/28 Wednesday! This lake is the deepest volcanic lake in the world and the deepest lake in the United States. And, it's so cool and beautiful!

Even in the middle of the summer, with daytime temperatures warm enough to wear T-shirts, there is snow!

Tuesday, June 16th 2020 We are in Arizona! We were so blessed to be able to visit the Grand Canyon! "O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions—" -Psalm 104:26 My family at the Grand Canyon! Visiting Friends!!!

The best part in road trips is visiting friends! Today, we'll be visiting Uncle Elliott and Aunt Betty's house*. They have been friends with my parents for over 20 years. They have 2 kids, Kristen and Evan. Kristen is 13, and Evan is 11. We made Yonanas together. It is made entirely of fruit, but it tastes just like ice cream. This is the Yonanas machine. It is sort of like a vita-mix, but it is a bit different. All you do is put frozen fruit inside, and the machine will do the rest of the work for you. We put in bananas and strawberries. Making yonanas  Mmm! It tasted really good, just like ice cream! Even Theodore (my brother who has food allergy) could eat it! Yonanas Aunt Betty is really good at cooking. She made kimchi for us. Very delicious! All she used was carrots, cabbage, pepper, and sauce. That's it. You see, she is REALLY good at cooking. Best Kimchi Ever! Outside, the Dads were barbecuing onions and salmon. Dad...

Food in Israel

One of my favorite things in Israel is the food! I LOVE food, and every country and culture has its own unique type of food. Israel is no exception! In the Bible, God promised to bring the Israelites into Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey . The seven biblical fruits of Israel are: Wheat Barley Grapes Figs Pomegranates Olives Dates Although these 7 fruits are the 7 special fruits of Israel, but there are also lots of other delicious food in Israel! In this post, I will focus more on food in Israel, and I will talk about fruits in Israel in another post. There is too much delicious food in Israel than can be contained in 5 blog posts. Multnomah Falls

     Since Multnomah Falls is really close to Bonneville Dam, we went there after we visited Bonneville Dam. Multnomah Falls, at a distance, after we parked our car. We went to the Visitor Center and did the Junior Ranger Program.  I also talked with a volunteer worker who was at the desk.  He was an old man, and he had been volunteering since 1989.      "You should really go on the bridge," he said, "It only takes 5 minutes to walk up there."      He continued, "If it takes 5 minutes to get up there, how long do you suppose it will take to get down?"      Without thinking, I said, "Well, it takes 5 minute to get to the bridge, but if you jump down, I think it will only take a few seconds."      I continued, after a short pause, "But, of course, we won't jump.  We'll probably take the same trail back down.  I suppose that will be about 5 minutes too." Sacramento: Family Conference

     This year, our family went to the Family Conference in Sacramento.  This year's theme was "Trust in the LORD".  My younger sister went to a program called "PRE-EMBASSY", and I went to COMMIT in the morning and Student Sessions in the afternoon.  The rest of our family attended the General Session. Tuesday      On the first day of the conference, we registered at around 5:00pm and listened to a few talks that night. Wednesday      On the first day of COMMIT, we learned a song called "Still, my soul be still", which we practiced every day and sang at the end of the Conference.  Also, we each received our COMMIT booklet.  Inside the booklet, there were devotionals for each day at the conference and pages for notes. Studying for the NBB - Overview of Colossians

     We are currently in Texas. After many days of traveling between states (driving), we have arrived here at last. I have a lot of studying to catch up on! To help myself remember the content of each verse in Colossians I summarized the surface content of each chapter with words and pictures. Below are each of the four chapters: Chapter one Chapter two Chapter three Chapter four      Well, after doing many practice tests (and the official test for qualifying to Nationals), I realized that not only did I need to know the content of each memory passage/cross-reference, I also needed to know the context . At Locals, I filled my 'Cross-reference list' with notes. OC Fair 2023!

When my siblings and I were younger, our family would go to OC Fair every summer. We have great memories from the Centennial Farm and the Read & Ride program. The last time I went to OC Fair was before the COVID-19 pandemic.  This August 2023, my sisters and I and some friends went to the OC Fair together (the rest of the family wanted to come but weren't able to make it this time). The Lord was SO good to us. We got good parking, the weather was cool, the sky was cloudy, and we had an amazing and memorable time. Selfie at the OC Fair with my sisters! Heroes Hall In the morning, we visited Heroes Hall and the museum at the site. When we entered the museum, we were greeted by a very sweet young lady who introduced us to the exhibit.  The first floor of the museum featured Stanley Troutman, a war correspondent during WWII. Playgrounds in Israel

We got to visit lots of playgrounds in Israel! They are different from the ones in the U.S. and they are really fun! This playground was in the Old City, Jerusalem.  The swing was really fun! The park was really fun! You could slide down and also climb up! Sliding down! There were also two long blue slides! We also got to visit two parks in Tel Aviv. The first park was like an amusement park. It had like 20+ swings! This park also had two of the swings that we saw in Jerusalem! This park also had a giant playground with at least 12 slides! There was something that you could go on and it would take you down to the ground! Near this park in Tel Aviv was another park. It was really fun, too. Gan Ha'Atzmaut - Independence Park

My favorite thing that we did this week during Sukkot in Israel was playing in Gan Ha'Atzmaut, Independence Park. We got to play with kids of all ages from families from all over the world.  Sometimes some of the younger kids couldn't understand English, so some of us would translate into Hebrew, German, or Chinese, for them. We had a fun and exciting time together. Even though we only played together for one week, it feels as if we knew everyone for an year already! Below, we are playing a game called "Squirrel and Tree". The little ones absolutely LOVE this game, and it is pretty fun even for us who are older. Since we are all from all over the world, we all know different games to play. It was fun discussing, teaching, learning, and playing new games. Sometimes, we modified some games so that the younger ones could understand. For example, "North, Central, South America" became "Red, Yellow, Green". The little ones...
