Visiting Friends!!!

The best part in road trips is visiting friends!

Today, we'll be visiting Uncle Elliott and Aunt Betty's house*. They have been friends with my parents for over 20 years.

They have 2 kids, Kristen and Evan. Kristen is 13, and Evan is 11.

We made Yonanas together. It is made entirely of fruit, but it tastes just like ice cream.

This is the Yonanas machine. It is sort of like a vita-mix, but it is a bit different.

All you do is put frozen fruit inside, and the machine will do the rest of the work for you. We put in bananas and strawberries.

Mmm! It tasted really good, just like ice cream! Even Theodore (my brother who has food allergy) could eat it!

Aunt Betty is really good at cooking. She made kimchi for us. Very delicious!

All she used was carrots, cabbage, pepper, and sauce. That's it. You see, she is REALLY good at cooking.

Best Kimchi Ever!

Outside, the Dads were barbecuing onions and salmon.

Inside, Catherine was reading a book.

Evan and Theodore were making towers and shooting them down.

Evan also played piano and violin for us and sang parodies.

Kristen, Anabel, and I went to the front garden to pick berries. We picked a couple blueberries, too!

Then, we went to the backyard and played on the swings. Later on, we found out that the age range for the swings was between 4-10 yrs old. However, the maximum weight was 110 pounds, and since none of us was heavier than that, we kept on playing anyway.

For dinner, we had rice, lots of green vegetables from the garden, grilled salmon, grilled onions and berries. We ate dinner at 9 pm, when the sun set.

As the adults talked, we went downstairs and played games. We played Apples-to-Apples Big Pictures and Uno. We had a wonderful time at their home. When it was time to go, no one wanted to leave. But we had to go home, so we said "good-bye" (for 15 minutes at the door). Hopefully, we will get to visit them again soon!

*Note: For those of you who are not familiar with Asian culture, they aren't really our uncle and aunt, but in Asian culture, to be polite, you call every adult "uncle" or "aunt".

Comments

  1. Yes, they are very dear friends to us! We pray that the Lord will provide for you special friends along your life's journey. May you become a special friend to many others, too. Love, mom.
